To begin with, Carly always knew she wanted to go to a cavern but her parents would never take her. Carly knew she was going to be able to go someday. All these thoughts are rushing around in her head! Who am I going with? How will I get there? So that night she laid in bed thinking about all those questions until she wore herself out and drifted to sleep.
She was dreaming about what was going to happen. She was also dreaming about all the what ifs she had in her mind. It was the next morning and she knew today was going to be the day she went to the caverns. So she got dressed and called her friend Bob. Bob was a very nice guy. Bob was actually Carly’s best friend!
Bob answered the phone he said, ‘’Hello?’’Carly said, ‘’Hi, Bob. This is Carly. Do you want to go to the caverns with me?’’
Bob said, ‘’Sure, but how are we going to get there? What about our parents? They would have to go with us.’’
Carly said, ‘’Wait! Let me ask my mom!’’ She went and asked her mom and her mom said, “Fine. Le’s go there.”
Next it was a new morning. Carly woke up and went in her mom’s room and woke her up also. So they both woke up and called Bob’s mom to ask her if Bob could go and she said, “Yes, I’ll come too!” They all met up at Carly’s house to go down to take a stroll through the forest.
”La, la, la,” said carly as they walked through the forest and suddenly heard an “Ahhh!” Then another, then another, then another. They found themselves deep down in a mud hole.
After that, they looked around and saw beautiful glittering stalagmites like found in Luray Caverns. Carly was so excited she was saying, ”Oh my gosh. I can’t believe this is really happening. This is a dream come true!” They walked around and saw all the beautiful stalagmites. Bob said, ”Wow these are beautiful!” So they took one because it was laying on the ground.
Suddenly they realized, “How do we get out of here?” They pulled themselves up on a stalagmite until they reached the top of the hole. Carly and her mom looked at the stalagmite with Bob and his mom. “It is so beautiful,” said Carly and Bob. Dusk began to come and they went back inside and went to sleep.
As you can see they got home safely and lived happily ever after! Their life went on and they have never went back.
